A Parent’s Daily Prayer for Their Teenager and Young Adult

As parents, our hearts are deeply connected to the well-being of our children especially during the teenage and young adult years.

This stage of life is full of change, growth, and important decisions. It can also be a time of uncertainty, pressure, and emotional challenges.

I’ve found that one of the most powerful things I can do as a parent is pray.

There are moments when we don’t have all the answers, but we can always bring our children before God—trusting Him to guide, protect, and shape their lives.

This daily prayer for my teenager and young adult is something I return to often, especially during seasons when I feel the need to surrender everything into God’s hands.

A Daily Prayer for My Teenager and Young Adult

Dear Heavenly Father,

As I come before You today, I lift up my teenager and young adult into Your loving hands.

During this important season of growth and change, I ask that You guide them, protect them, and shape them into the person You created them to be.

Lord, grant them wisdom to make the right decisions. Help them choose what is good, true, and aligned with Your will.

Your Word in Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us to trust in You with all our hearts and not rely on our own understanding. May this truth guide their thoughts, their choices, and their direction.

Father, I pray for their education and personal growth. Help them to be diligent, focused, and committed in all they do.

As Proverbs 9:10 teaches, may they understand that true wisdom begins with reverence for You. Let them grow not only in knowledge but also in character.

Lord, I lift up their friendships and relationships. Surround them with positive influences and protect them from negative ones.

Your Word reminds us in 1 Corinthians 15:33 that the company we keep shapes who we become. Guide them to build relationships rooted in respect, truth, and shared values.

Father, I place their dreams, goals, and future in Your hands.

As promised in Jeremiah 29:11, You have plans for their life plans to prosper them and give them hope. Help them trust in Your timing and follow the path You have prepared.

In moments of joy, may they give thanks.
In moments of struggle, may they turn to You.

Give them strength when they feel weak, peace when they feel overwhelmed, and confidence in knowing they are deeply loved by You.

With faith and trust, I surrender my child into Your care.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
